Dear Fellow Alumni and Friends,
It's hard to believe that January is behind us and that spring is just around the corner! For many, February is the month of love. I am reminded of a quote from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho: "When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” I am inspired by the actions of Our Valpo Family as we serve and lead with love. Never a dull moment
Terry Trautman ‘60
For Terry Trautman ’60, the first time he ever set foot on the Valparaiso University campus was the first day of his freshman year. He says, “I really had no idea what I wanted to do in life, so a small liberal arts school made sense to me. As a Lutheran myself, Valpo appealed to me.”

Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM) brings high school musicians from all over the country to Valpo’s campus to immerse themselves in joyful music-making in a welcoming community. During the day, students receive advanced musical instruction. In the evenings, students attend recitals, prayer services, and social events. LSM 2024 is open to students who have completed grades 8-12. Spots for this summer are filling up quickly! Learn more and nominate students at LSMacademy.org.

Volunteers Needed!
Valparaiso University’s Career and Alumni Network is hosting virtual mock interviews for all majors, and we are looking for volunteers of all backgrounds!
- All interviews will be virtual
- You can utilize your own questions, or the Career and Alumni Network can provide you with some generic interview questions
- Each interview should last no more than 30 minutes
- Complete simple feedback form after each interview that we can send to the students
Signing up is simple!
Email career.center@valpo.edu by Wednesday, March 13, 2024, with your availability between
9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for April 2 - 5, 2024, and we will pair you with students!
